The News Media Coalition’s Chairman Clive Milner has decided to step down from the role after being associated with the NMC for more than ten years.
This will take immediate effect and means the Board of the NMC will now put in place arrangements for a new chairman of the organisation, which comprises major news publishers and national and international news agencies.
In informing the Board, Clive said: ‘After 10 years it’s a good time to move on. I would like to thank you and your companies for the support and commitment you have shown over the years to hel p build the NMC from a fledgling concept into the effective organisation it is today. I wish you and everyone involved in the NMC every success going forward ‘
The NMC Board said in a statement: ‘During his time at the helm, Clive has helped drive change in the organisation so it can better serve its members as they grapple with an increasingly complex and challenged environment for news-gathering and sustainable news business models. We are all grateful to him for his strategic insig hts, vision and professional rigour.’
Andrew Moger, the NMC’s Director said: ‘In drawing from years of experience as a leading figure in the media sector, Clive has helped put the NMC in a strong and unique position within the international news media landscape. I wish him every success for the future.’

Clive Milner is a news industry specialist consultant, having been the Chief Operating Officer of News International. He has held many senior roles in the industry, including Chairman of the Newspaper Publishers Association, Executive Committee Member of European Newspaper Publishers Association, the UK’s Newspaper Publishers Association and Board Director of Pressbof (the Press Board of Finance). In addition to his long career within News International spanning more than 30 years he was chairman of the NMC since 2010.
