World News Day 2026: a global campaign on how the news is reported

World News Day takes place on 28 September 2026, with a campaign week running from 25 September to 2 October. It is an annual campaign that asks news organisations across the world to show their audiences how their journalism is made: how stories are reported, how facts are checked before publication, and what that work is for.

EPA Images has appointed Andrej Čukić as its new Editor-in-Chief. The appointment takes effect on 10 August 2026. It was announced from Frankfurt on 29 July 2026.

EPA Images opens second edition of its news photography programme

EPA Images, the European Pressphoto Agency and an NMC member, has opened applications for the second edition of its Advanced Programme in International News Photography. The 12-month course, run by the EPA Academy, begins on 15 October 2026 at the agency's headquarters in Frankfurt.

‘For major events, such as Olympics, rugby and football world cups, as well as for large-scale civic events such as national commemorations, news organisations need to be able to plan well in advance, in some cases often years before photographers, reporters and video journalists, and their back-office teams, hit the ground,’ said Andrew Moger, CEO of the News Media Coalition.
