Andrew Moger, CEO of the News Media Coalition (NMC), has been invited by the Council of Europe to speak at a high-level event in Strasbourg on May 10. Moger will be participating in the launch of the joint European Union/Council of Europe – All In Plus project, aimed at highlighting gender equality in the sports sector. The full-day event will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities for considering gender equality in sports and sports media.
Andrew Moger will participate in a panel session titled “The role of the media in sport”. Other panelists include Mary Byrne, Editor in Chief of the Olympic Channel Services at the International Olympic Committee; Mejdaline Mhiri, a sports commentator, journalist, handball player, and co-director of the French association of women in sports journalism; Nicolas Delorme, a sports sociologist and member of the Sport et Citoyenneté Scientific Think Tank; and Stéphanie Roque, a journalist who co-authored and co-directed the documentary “Sur la Touche.”
