A long rumoured joint bid for the 2030 World Cup by the four “Home Nations” of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales has moved one step closer to happening after the Football Association of Wales (FAW) confirmed that it has held talks.
It’s chief executive, Jonathan Ford, said that the proposal would be “strong and compelling” and that there will be a feasibility study into the prospect.
These comments follow on from the Football Association’s confirmation earlier this month that it was considering an English bid.
Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay have already announced their own plans and Morocco may join with Spain and Portugal for another joint bid for the 2030 World Cup.
