As reported in the Daily Mail, English Premier League clubs are said to be considering Tony Blair as next chairman of the Premier League.
Tony Blair, UK Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007, was mentioned during informal discussions at the last clubs’ meeting.
Other names that came up in the discussions around a possible new chief executive are Gavin Patterson, a former BT chief, and current Sky Sports boss Barney Francis.
However, the Daily Mail notes that “it is considered unlikely that the nominations panel, led by Chelsea’s Bruce Buck, would want to risk alienating other rights holders.”
