NMC appoints Adeline Chauveau as Public Policy Adviser

The News Media Coalition is pleased to announce that Adeline Chauveau has joined the organisation as Public Policy Adviser, effective immediately.

Adeline brings extensive experience in European cultural and media policy, trade association management, and EU institutional relations. Until recently, Adeline served as Senior Project Manager for Cultural and Creative Industries at Business France, where she led major internationalisation programmes in close coordination with the French Ministry of Culture and the Institut français.

Prior to that, she spent nearly three years as Managing Director of Europa International, the Brussels-based association of European film sales companies, where she represented the organisation across a broad range of EU legislative processes — including the Digital Services Act, the European Media Freedom Act, and the Copyright Directive — while managing governance, membership and EU-funded projects. Earlier postings at the Institut français in Paris, Beijing and Istanbul gave her a strong grounding in international cultural diplomacy and cross-border media dynamics.

Speaking of her new role, Adeline said: ‘I am honoured to join the News Media Coalition as Public Policy Adviser and to contribute to such essential work defending press freedom, newsgathering rights and the viability of independent journalism. At a time when media freedom and the sustainability of vital quality journalism are under increasing pressure, I look forward to working alongside Andrew and the NMC members to shape the policies that will empower Primary Source Journalism in Europe and beyond.’

Andrew Moger, CEO of the News Media Coalition, said: ‘Adeline brings extensive experience in European cultural and media policy, trade association management, and EU institutional relations. She combines that knowledge of the machinery of influence and process with a strong instinct for the value of the independent news sector. Exciting, vital and busy times ahead for Adeline and us all at the NMC’.

Adeline replaces Robert Heslop, who moved at the British Chamber of Commerce in the EU and Belgium in the position of Head of Office and Director of Government Affairs.
