La Liga uses technology to give viewers new experiences

LaLiga used a lot of new technology for the FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid game on 6th May at the Camp Nou.

During “El Clásico”, viewers were given a whole new TV experience as LaLiga decided to build partnerships with innovative technologies such as True View, 4K HDR, aerial cameras, virtual reality, and Laser Wall.

The Laser Wall, in particular, is an overlay graphic that displays a virtual straight line to clarify whether a player was offside or not.

La Liga’s goal is to expand its audience by making it feel closer to the action, in part due to the virtual reality Be The Player feature.

The game itself was estimated to have been watched by half a billion viewers across 182 countries.
