The European Pressphoto Agency (EPA Images) has announced the launch of the EPA Academy, a new 12-month Advanced Programme in International News Photography aimed at nurturing the next generation of photojournalists.
Designed for aspiring visual journalists, the course blends theory with practice—offering in-depth monthly seminars, hands-on workshops, and a two-month internship. With a focus on news and sports photography, students will be trained in both the technical craft and editorial judgment required for today’s global newsrooms.
“This is how I started—learning with and from other journalists,” said Julia R. Arévalo, President & CEO of EPA Images. “Some of the most valuable lessons in my career came from being part of a structured training programme. I’m proud that EPA Images is now offering the same kind of opportunity to the next generation of visual journalists.”
Based at EPA’s headquarters in Frankfurt, the Academy is the only programme in Germany combining international news photography and editing. With class sizes limited to 10 students, the Academy ensures a personalised and rigorous learning experience.
