Wanted: Chief Executive for the English Premier League

The Daily Telegraph reports that in a bid to end the hunt for a replacement to former CEO Richard Scudamore the EPL has contracted the search to recruiter firm Russell Reynolds.

In November 2018, the EPL named Susanna Dinnage, the Global President of Animal Planet, as Scudamore’s successor but she reneged on her agreement. This was where the difficulties for the EPLs started, as the BBC confirmed that Tim Davie, Chief Executive of the commercial division, turned down the EPL’s offer of becoming the CEO.

It is also being reported that other high-level figures who have been approached for the role have rejected overtures from the EPL because a reduction in the value of the EPL’s domestic TV rights has decreased the attractiveness of the position.
